Overview

Thread forming taps "form" the thread instead of cutting it. By doing this, it allows the thread to be created without chips. Thread forming taps can run at faster operating rates than standard cut taps, and generally have a longer tool life. Ideal for materials such as aluminum, brass, copper, low carbon steels, zinc, and 302-303 stainless steel.
